How to File a DMCA Takedown on MyFreeCams

MyFreeCams has been running long enough that most models have seen every flavor of content theft: capped shows recirculating for years, old photo sets attached to fake profiles, and lookalike accounts farming tokens off someone else's reputation. Your shows and photos are your copyrighted work, and a DMCA notice to MFC is the established way to get infringing copies removed from the site.

Before you start

  • Your model profile URL and evidence of ownership, original files, broadcast dates, or the archive where your content first appeared.
  • URLs and screenshots of every infringing profile, room, or image, captured before anything disappears.
  • A working email address you check regularly.
  • An anonymity decision: a self-filed notice discloses your legal name; an agent-filed notice discloses the agent's.

Step 1: Collect and date your evidence

Screenshot infringing profiles and media with URLs visible, and log the date and time. Match each stolen item to your original, file, post date, or show date, so a reviewer can immediately see which came first.

Step 2: Find MFC's published copyright route

Look through the footer and help/information pages on myfreecams.com for the DMCA or copyright procedure. If you're a broadcaster, model support can also tell you where formal copyright notices should be sent. Resist the temptation to use email addresses from forums or old blog posts, platforms change intake channels, and misdirected notices simply vanish.

Step 3: Draft a notice with all six statutory elements

Identify your original work, list every infringing URL, provide your contact information, state your good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized, affirm under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that you're the owner or their authorized agent, and sign it (typed signatures count).

Step 4: Submit and keep your paper trail

Send the notice, then save the sent message, submission date, and any ticket number or acknowledgment. If you filed through a form, screenshot the confirmation screen.

Step 5: Report impersonation separately

A profile using your name, photos, and bio is committing two offenses. Alongside the copyright notice, file an impersonation report with support, that's the report that targets the account itself rather than individual files.

Step 6: Follow up, then escalate

If a week or two passes silently, follow up citing your original notice and 17 U.S.C. § 512. For a formal escalation path, the U.S. Copyright Office's designated-agent directory at dmca.copyright.gov/osp lists where legal notices can be served.

What happens after you file

Valid notices lead to removal or disabling of the reported content and a notification to the uploader; accounts that draw repeated valid notices face termination under repeat-infringer policies. If the uploader counter-notifies, the material may return after a statutory waiting period unless you start a court action. Old cam content has a long tail, captures resurface for years, so periodic searches for your model name remain worthwhile long after a takedown succeeds.

If that long tail is eating your time, Rulta runs the monitoring and filing continuously as your authorized agent, which also means your legal name never reaches the people reposting your content.

Frequently asked questions

Do MFC models own their broadcasts?

Yes, models retain the rights to the performances and media they create. Recording, re-uploading, or replaying a model's stream without permission is copyright infringement.

Where do I find MyFreeCams' DMCA contact?

Check the footer and information/help pages on myfreecams.com for the copyright or DMCA procedure, or ask model support to direct your notice. Use only contact routes the site itself publishes.

Can someone use my MFC photos on another profile if they credit me?

No. Credit is not a license. Any use of your photos or recordings without your permission can be reported, credited or not.

How do I keep my legal name off the notice?

File through an authorized agent or takedown service. The agent signs and sends the notice, so their details, not yours, are what the platform and the uploader see.

What if my recordings show up on tube sites too?

Send each outside site its own DMCA notice; a report to MFC covers only content hosted on MyFreeCams. Deindexing requests to Google help when a host ignores you.
